PacifiCare Products
- PacifiCare SignatureValue, an HMO, requires members to pick a primary care physician to manage the members’ medical care. Members pay a copayment for healthcare services using medical providers from within a large network. The primary care physician can refer members to a specialist within the network if needed.
- PacifiCare Signature POS offers members the option of picking a healthcare provider from outside of the network. POS members will save more money by using network medical providers.
- PacifiCare SignatureFreedom allows members to use a special account, or self-directed account, from which they can pay certain covered medical expenses. Members can use any medical provider they choose, but will save more money when using a healthcare provider in the network. If a member requires medical care that is not approved to be paid from the self-directed account, the member uses a PPO plan. Medical expenses paid using the PPO plan are subject to a yearly deductible and coinsurance.
- PacifiCare SignatureIndependence members must pay an annual deduction before coverage starts. Members also pay coinsurance for their medical care. Members can see any physician or healthcare provider that they choose.
