BCBS of Texas Products
BCBS of Texas offers many options to members besides health insurance plans. Comprehensive dental is an optional plan, and their SelecTemp short-term coverage plan will cover an individual for up to six months. Health insurance plans currently offered to individuals and families in the state include:
- Select Blue Advantage Series III (PPO): With eight different deductible choices, this plan offers unrivaled flexibility. Co-insurance for this plan is 15%, and children can be covered on an adult policy or a child-only plan. Immunizations are covered until age eight.
- Select Choice Series III (PPO): With this plan, office visits require just a co-pay. Well-child visits are covered until age 8, and unlike other plans, this allows therapy coverage for developmentally disabled children, in addition to mammograms.
- SelectSaver Series III (PPO): This is another flexible coverage plan, with eight deductible options. There is a child-only plan alongside in and out-patient coverage.
- Select® Value Care: No deductibles are the trademark of this plan, although out-of-pocket expenses are high to compensate. Members can get prescription drugs for a 50% co-insurance.
- Select Basic: Well-child and preventive treatment is covered 100% until age seven. In-patient and outpatient coverage is available, although these don't offer as many benefits as other plans. Prescription drug coverage is included.
- Blue Edge Individual HSA: This consumer-driven plan has a number of of deductible options and a spending account that be used to pay for preventive care and wellness visits.
